Grand Opening of Fort Worth Stockyards Hyatt Place

Hospitality Management

January 16, 2008 by OLDHAM GOODWIN

Fort Worth, TX – One thing about being in a National Historic District, accommodations are usually, well, historic. The new Hyatt Place Fort Worth in the Stockyards brings new luxuries to the “old west” for the most fitting place to “Hang your Hat” on Exchange Avenue.

“We are excited to share the Hyatt experience and our new home with all the visitors and residents of the Historic Stockyards,” says Laurie Tilley, active General Manager. “The Hyatt Place is the kind of hotel that goes above and beyond expectations not only with our guests, but also our community.”

After 6 months of construction and $1.5 million renovation, the hotel celebrates with a Grand Opening on Wednesday January 16 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. “Hang your Hat at the Hyatt” festivities include premium room giveaways, special “Hyatt-warming” gift bags, live music from Brad Hines, food by G Texas Catering and more! This free event is open to the public and includes tours of the newly-remodeled guestrooms.

In December the hotel officially changed over from AmeriSuites to Hyatt Place. The owner is Stockyards Station Hotel, LP and the hotel is managed by the Oldham Goodwin Group since April 2006.

More than just a new decor, each guest room now features the Hyatt Grand Bed and a 42-inch flat panel HDTV that integrates with your laptop, mp3 player or other electronic devices. A welcoming wet bar and countertop includes a refrigerator and coffee maker.

The innovation extends beyond the guest room. As you enter the Hyatt Place, the Gallery is a large open area featuring a self-registration kiosk, an intimate cafe featuring coffee and wine, a comfortable TV den and fireplace. Guests at Hyatt Place may enjoy a signature hot breakfast entree along with a Starbucks specialty coffee, or as always, a free continental breakfast. The cafe also boasts a variety of freshly-prepared items including made-to-order entrees, sandwiches, soups, salads and pizza which guests can order 24 hours a day, seven days a week via a touch screen menu in the guest kitchen or from the Guest Host. The Gallery also features an “e-room” offering free access to a public computer and printer.

Many will appreciate the new Stay Fit fitness center, complimentary to guests. Equipped with state-of-the-art Life Fitness cardio and strength equipment, it features the most advanced LCD touch screen consoles in the fitness industry.
