COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — Oldham Goodwin President and Chief Operating Officer Hunter Goodwin recently was selected as a 2022 Career Outstanding Alumni Award recipient by the Texas A&M College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. The college selects three alumni each year who “distinguish themselves by reaching a significant level of accomplishment in their careers and who possess the highest standards of integrity and character which bring honor to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University.”

“I’m honored and humbled by this award and all the kind words from those who supported my nomination for it,” Goodwin said. “My experience at Texas A&M and in the College of Ag and Life Sciences not only shaped my career, it shaped me as a man. This may look like an individual award, but it’s really a tribute to so many who have taught and supported me over the years: Dr. Rister and my other professors, my family, our team at Oldham Goodwin, and many others along the way. I’m grateful.”

Goodwin is class of 1996 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M. In 2013, he was inducted into the Tyrus R. Timm Honor Registry of Former Students in Agricultural Economics. He frequently serves as a “Prof-for-a-Day” in multiple agricultural economics classes, is a member of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Development Council, and serves as the Vice Chancellor’s Forum chair. Goodwin also chairs the Texas A&M University System RELLIS External Academic Advisory Council.

Dr. Edward Rister, Associate Dean of Student Professional Development for the College, nominated Goodwin for the award and noted his impact both as a student and former student.

“I had the good fortune to observe his academic and leadership skills in my Agribusiness Entrepreneurship classes,” Rister said. “He coined the term ‘AGEC 425 Survivor,’ which has become the mantra label for graduates of our Agribusiness Entrepreneurship program. Former and current students and generations of future Aggies are the beneficiaries of his leadership, untiring selfless service, and devotion to excellence for our College.”

Goodwin is also an owner of Oldham Goodwin, and he is responsible for implementing the company’s business strategies, launching new ventures and initiatives, overseeing ongoing company operations, and developing synergistic business relationships. He specializes in the asset management and development of commercial, multifamily, and hospitality properties using his extensive experience in construction management and business operations.

Most recently, he helped lead Oldham Goodwin through the most challenging months of the pandemic with a steady approach that allowed the company to grow, adding assets and employees and emerging stronger than ever.

Prior to real estate, Hunter was a professional athlete for nine years with the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, and Miami Dolphins, where he was a team captain from 1999-2001. He served as a Miami Dolphins representative to the Player’s Union from 2000-2001.
