Oldham Goodwin is proud to announce the successful acquisition of 100 acres of land for Blinn College’s new campus in Waller, Texas. This acquisition marks a pivotal step forward in Blinn College’s vision to expand higher education opportunities while fostering economic growth within the Waller community and the Highway 290 corridor of northwestern Houston.
Led by Oldham Goodwin’s expert team, including Justin Whitworth, Clint Oldham, and Daniel Powell, the project navigated a complex two-year journey, involving detailed site selection, extensive due diligence, and coordination with the City of Waller on development and annexation plans.
Oldham Goodwin’s full-service approach began in late 2022 when Blinn College requested support in identifying a suitable location for its new campus. The team conducted a comprehensive needs assessment, followed by an in-depth site selection process that included on- and off-market property evaluations. The Oldham Goodwin team presented Blinn College with multiple rounds of site options and progressively refined the campus’s spatial and infrastructural needs.
Once the most desirable property was identified, the team facilitated extensive due diligence work, including property surveying and re-platting, preliminary engineering services, environmental inspections, and development budgeting. They also worked closely with Blinn College and city officials to develop and negotiate utility service and development agreements and an annexation agreement with the City of Waller. All efforts were completed before the official close of the transaction.
