Bryan, TX — Marriott International, Inc. has named Oldham Goodwin Group a Horizon Award winner at the Marriott owner’s conference on May 1st by Arne Sorenson, President and Chief Executive Officer for Marriott International.

Oldham Goodwin Hospitality was honored as a CONNECT 2017 Horizon Award recipient at this year’s ceremony. The Marriott Horizon Award recognizes the best of the best in hotel management companies that partner with Marriott. It is given to companies that own and operate brand hotels exemplifying Marriott’s spirit-to-serve philosophy and earning outstanding guest service ratings.

Oldham Goodwin began the employee recognition program to show our appreciation and recognition of employees who exemplify the embodiment of the core values of Oldham Goodwin. Each of our eleven hotel properties were tasked with nominating one employee who they felt provided exceptional customer service, contributed to cost saving initiatives, improved workflow and productivity, leads by example, and goes the extra mile. Randi was nominated because of her commitment to the Courtyard New Braunfels; however she was selected for her business report that has contributed to additional business and return clients.

Shell Oil continually mentions Randi and her level of customer service. She has contributed to revenue generating initiatives, rather than cost savings alone. She works to keep cost down, and productivity up. For example, earlier this year Marriott rolled out a new beverage program and Randi suggested improvements which have allowed for better communication and guest interaction. She works to keep cost down in the Food & Beverage department by understanding the importance of proper inventory levels as well as serving alcohol by using the correct measuring tools. Additionally, Randi is always on time and often one of the first in or last out, only to return bright and early the next morning. Randi can often be found role-playing with new associates to prepare them for our Brand Standards Audit. Randi has also taken an interest in understanding the sales aspect of the business, and that one lead can generate hundreds of room nights in the hotel industry. It is clear that Randi takes pride in her work and always delivers service with a smile.

Oldham Goodwin currently employees over 500 people but only one per quarter can be selected for the honor of the Company-Wide Employee of the Quarter. Today it was our honor to present this award to Randi Shaw at the Courtyard New Braunfels River Village, along with $500, in recognition of her hard work and dedication to excellence.

SpringHill Suites Houston Northwest Receives Top Brand Awards

The Marriott Gold Circle Award recognizes the top 10% of the properties within Marriott’s SpringHill Suites hotel brand in Overall GSS Score – Overall Satisfaction for the 2016 year.
